Who's stopping you?

Did you know that studies often show that a lot of people want to start their own business, but only a fraction dare to take the actual plunge?

I think many people avoid starting their own businesses because they have too many negative people in their surroundings.

This is life:
Sooner or later, people will cross your path and try to deter, dissuade or even sabotage your hopes and plans of starting your own company. This type of person may come in many different shapes. It could be your spouse, a parent, a friend, a boss, a neighbor or a coworker.

So you've already met him/her!
Then you already know that they usually say things like;”I just want you to be realistic”. (Being realistic is often an excuse to be negative). Or they say;”I just don't want you to get disappointed.”

A good piece of advice:
Should you actually start your own business, you have to stop listening to these people.
Throw them out of your life, delete them, avoid them. Don't give them an inch of space in your consciousness. Don't let them affect your dreams, desires – and your destiny.
Let them worry about their own lives instead. They are experts in watering and fertilizing the seeds of worry that you obviously already have. It's scary to start a business. Everything new is scary. But it gets even worse because you get prejudices delivered from people who might never have dared to take any chances or managed to accomplish anything of their own. That’s not the right kind of people to listen to!

Am I the right person to listen to?
Yes, if you feel comfortable with a person who was equally anxious and nervous about taking that big step to starting their own business as you are, but who has struggled for a while and then became very successful. I know what I'm talking about because I have been where you are now. And I know it's possible.

Listen to me:
Start where you are, take what you have and do the best you can. Don't wait and think;”I'll try one day if I get the chance, if I meet the right people, when I have enough money, when I get a better network, when I have the right training, the right parents, the right age, the right gender – bla, bla, bla.

Tip
Take ten minutes and think about the prophets of doom you have around you. They are easy to detect because they rarely encourage you, pat you on the shoulder, support or believe in you. Get rid of them mentally and emotionally. Then go for it: Start where you are, take what you have and do the best you can.

This applies to everything in life!
