Viral Marketing - smart for you


Viral marketing gives you more traffic.

One thing that you should be working much more with is to create content that your visitors have the urge to forward, print or recommend to their friends.

That is what viral marketing is all about. Yes, I know, it's nothing new, but why haven't you gotten started yet then?

The greatest example in the world is Hotmail, but let's not take a bigger bite than we can chew. As a small business owner it's pretty hard for us to take care of a worldwide system and turn it into a tool for self promotion by giving away free e-mail addresses. But there are a lot of other things we can do...


Here are some ideas you can use to create viral marketing for your website:

1. Create strong information that visitors can recommend their friends to take part of as well. Make self-tests, humorous articles, funny pictures and important buying guides, make your own product tests that will help people to recommend their friends to visit your website.

2. Allow your visitors to use your content on their own websites, newsletters, newspapers and e-books in exchange for a link directly to your website.

3. Allow your visitors to use your free materials and bonuses for a link back to you.

4. Let your visitors show themselves on your website (perhaps in an industry directory that you create) for a link back to you.

5. Offer your viral product as a free thing for businesses that complement yours. They may use your material as a bonus to all their customers.

6. Keep track of the results. Talk to your web designer about letting you see how many people sent recommendations to their friends. Produce more of that material.
