The best tip for quotes you will ever get

Quotation work can really feel like hell sometimes. You struggle with them. You sharpen them. You want, want, you just want them to appeal to the customer and to make people aware that you're not just sending them out to probe the market.
You send your quotation and hope – but nothing happens ...

Here's a really good tip that will give you more control next time:

Before you send your next quote, call your customer and tell them that the quotation/tender documents are ready to be sent out.
Tell them that you want to send it, but first need to know what time tomorrow that would be best suited to discuss the documents.

Remember this! Always book the next contact before releasing information. It's not your job to make quotes that are just lying around. The customer has requested it and has to take responsibility for a discussion of it at a certain time.

Remember - you must be partners - not counterparties.

Let's go now!
