PR - where to start?


”If you've never worked actively and consciously with PR - where do you start?”

Let's see, what does it say in the Company Handbook on the first paragraph in the first chapter on the very first few lines?

Probably this:

1. Always work on the target groups. For you to be successful when it comes to bringing out your company's message to your target audiences, it's necessary for you to assume their needs and situations. The same type of information may not interest everyone, therefore avoid mass mailings and always focus on those who will receive your information before you think of what is best for yourself and/or your business.

2. Establish yourself as a knowledge resource. The best way to get continuous publicity is to establish yourself as a knowledge resource for a variety of key journalists. Call or write to the journalists who cover your industry and tell them that they can contact you at any time if they would like to leave a comment or get an explanation of a complicated relationship.

3. Keep your PR efforts active. Try to keep continuity in your promotional efforts even during moments of internal news drought. Express your opinions in columns and debates, post a tip article to your trade paper, invite people to visit your business. Arranging a promotional activity, however small, every other month is a good goal.
