How to show customers that you care

To start with: Caring for customers is about completely different things than just lounging around comfy sofas in worn-out sweatpants and looking cozy together.

Here are seven points to start with:
• Think about what customers have to go through to order what you are selling. Are you easy to reach? Can it be ordered in different ways (on the web, via fax, phone or by mail)?
• Think about how easy it is for customers to find out facts about your company's products. Make it as easy as possible for customers to make intelligent buying decisions by providing them with rich information about what you sell.
• Think about how easy it is for them to find your business, both in terms of website, phone number and physical address.
• Think about what it's like for the customer to try to test out your offer in his/her own mind. How does it feel? Can I trust it? What happens if the customer makes a mistake when he/she buys from you? Does it feel good to do business with you?
• Think about how easy it is to pay for the offer. Is it possible to pay by cash, card, in batches, etc.?
• Think about how easy it is to get the product delivered in different ways. Are there alternatives for getting faster deliveries, for example?
• Think about how easy it is to describe the benefits of the purchase as told by other customers (wife, husband, friends, colleagues). Do you provide the customer with the arguments he/she needs to justify the purchase for others?
