How to make a real star seller

Did you know that:
There are two things you can't avoid if you want to make a really good seller. One is heart and the other technique.

So what?

Yes, it's easy get lost in the world of clichés in discussions about selling. You hear these words all the time and in the end they mean nothing. But think about it. Heart. Passion. You can't succeed with anything if you don't have your heart in it.

Think about your hobby and then think about what you can do to find the same passion in your life as a seller. What do you need to do to feel that way? Is it a nice beckoning ? What goals would you like to achieve now, or in a few months? Targets creates passion because you carry your goals in your heart.

And technology. If you do what you have always done, you will get the same results you've always gotten. Today it's not sufficient enough to have an excellent product because there are others who sell the exact same product, or who have products that can replace yours. A good salesperson is in constant development. A good salesperson reads the best books, educate themselves and try out new angles. The seller with the best technical sales skills always wins in a battle between two vendors with similar products to sell.

To sell more, you must strive for, and like to be better at presenting, negotiating, closing and everything in between. It doesn't help to whine (it never does) about things outside your control. Adjustment and speed is natural in a seller's everyday life and in everyday life technical skills creates comfort and security. Technical knowledge will help you to keep quiet a little longer than the customer bothered to do and - bam, there you have the order. You already know what to say when the customer asks that question. You already know what commitments you will require of the customer if it'll be another week before a decision can be made.

... And besides all this, I believe that the best sellers are the ones who can tell the names of their children's idols as easy as they can recite the facts about their products. A good salesperson knows their kid's favorite song right now and who the artist is. A good salesperson knows who wrote the latest bestselling novel and knows which silverware to use at dinner. And I think a real seller – you – really hates to lose.

Today's job:
Soon it's Friday, the day when you normally claim that it's impossible to get hold of people.
Call 5 possible customers on Friday and find out if that's really true.
